Nominees for 24th edition of VGMA announced [Full list]

On March 18, 2023, the 24th edition of the esteemed Ghanaian music awards, known as the Vodafone Ghana Music Awards (VGMA), announced the nominees at the Accra International Conference Centre. 

The categories revealed by the VGMA organizers, CharterHouse, included the significant five: Record of the Year, New Artiste of the Year, Album of the Year, Vodafone Most Popular Song, and the ultimate Artiste of the Year. 

The Artiste of the Year award is the most prestigious prize given at the event, and it is presented to the artist or artists who are recognized by CharterHouse, the VGMA Board, and the general public as having the greatest audience appeal, radio play, online streaming, and popularity. This year, the Artiste of the Year category has eight notable contenders, including two gospel artists who are facing stiff competition from six secular musicians.
