Ghanaian social media influencer and aspiring lawyer, Elorm Ama Ababio, known as Ama Governor, has overcome a previous setback in her quest for admission to the bar.
In November 2022, her application was initially denied due to a complaint about her behavior filed by a "concerned citizen", sparking a significant debate on social media and among law students in Ghana.
Ama Governor vehemently denied any wrongdoing and claimed unfair treatment. However, in a recent development, the Ghana Bar Association (GBA) representative at the General Legal Council announced during the 2022/2023 bar conference that she has been granted the opportunity to resume her application process for admission to the bar, scheduled for the October/November 2023 sessions.
As part of this opportunity, her conduct will be closely monitored leading up to her application submission, and she will be required to commit to maintaining good behavior while practicing law in Ghana. A formal letter outlining these requirements has been delivered to Ama Governor.
